A woman who has the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene has a much higher risk of developing breast and/or ovarian cancer as compared to a woman who goes not have the genes, but it does not automatically mean she will get those cancers.

Since you shared that you do have the mutation the best thing you can do is to ask questions, just as you are doing by coming to EmpowHER, and to educate yourself on what this means.
