Hair loss is a normal process - we all lose about 100 hairs a day. That’s not much, though, if you consider the average scalp has more than 100,000 hairs.

There are no scientific studies showing that hair loss varies by season, but it does seem to be pretty common to lose more hair in the summer and early fall seasons. Some think that humans, like other mammals, simply "shed" their hair in the summer, just as dogs shed hair to create a "summer", thinner, and cooler coat of hair so they can better tolerate summer heat. Another theory is that summer stress to our bodies from the sun and warm weather impacts the hair and causes loss.
