I wanted to share some exciting news, especially as there are thousands of women, and now men, with cancer who have benefitted from Mary's Place by the Sea as a place to come to, to heal, body, mind and soul while battling cancer.
Mary's Place by the Sea has been chosen as one of a hundred women's health charities to win money from Revlon as part of their "LOVE IS ON Million Dollar Challenge, an online fundraising competition created to help charities, dedicated to leading women’s health issues, raise as much money as possible over the course of 6 weeks. Throughout the challenge, Revlon will be donating $1.4 million to various organizations."
Per the Revlon release, "The organization that raises the most donations for their cause, between September 21 at 12:00m ET and October 29 at 1:59:59pm ET, will win an additional ONE MILLION DOLLAR donation from Revlon for their cause. The runner-up will receive $250,000 and there will also be weekly bonus challenges totaling up to an additional $150,000.”
Even more, according to the release, “The charity that generates the most contributions will be eligible to receive an additional $1 million donation from Revlon, with the runner-up to receive $250,000. Additionally, a total of $150,000 will be distributed through weekly ‘bonus challenges’ over the course of the six-week competition.”
There are so many things we can do.
- We can donate to our charity of choice directly or through the Revlon page
- We can create a personal fundraising page on CrowdRise, linking to the specific charity we want to support
- We can also share our support on social media and use the hashtag #RevlonMillion and link to Mary’s Place Twitter page -- @marysplaceog
The winner of the Revlon LOVE IS ON Million Dollar Challenge will be announced in November 2015.
