Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community! It is important to know that anytime you have unprotected sex, your risk of pregnancy is much higher. During a menstrual cycle, the days of highest fertility are days 10-16. The day you had unprotected sex falls within that time frame if you began your last period on September 21.

However, morning after pills have high rates of effectiveness in decreasing the risk of pregnancy. It is important to know that you should not use the morning after pill as your main form of birth control. Taking it frequently can mess up your menstrual cycle and make it become irregular. If you plan on continuing to have unprotected sex, I suggest getting on a form of birth control like the pill or using a condom. Birth control helps reduce the risk of pregnancy.

Here are some great resource on EmpowHER that talk about different birth control options and how to choose the one that works best for you:

It may be a good idea to take a pregnancy test from the store to help relieve any fears and get an accurate answer.

Please keep me updated! I hope this helped and let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,
Erin
