Hi Anon,

Thank you for reaching out to EmpowHER with your question! It's important to understand that anytime you have unprotected sex, your risk of pregnancy is much higher. The withdrawal method does not a very good method to use if you don' want to get pregnant either. It can work in some cases, but not always as their may be pre ejaculation.

That is good that you took emergency contraception if you are worried about being pregnant. However, emergency contraception should not be your main form of birth control. If taken frequently, it can mess up your menstrual cycle and make it irregular. Emergency contraception has a high rate of effectiveness in preventing pregnancy, so that will help lower your risk. If you are still concerned, you could always take a pregnancy test.

If you continue having sex and don't want to get pregnant, I highly recommend getting on some sort of birth control like the pill or the patch. This will help lower your risk of pregnancy and also lessen any fears.

I hope this helped! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,
Erin
