Period blood colors can change and vary from bright red to brown or black, and from thin to very thick. Most of the time these changes in colors and thickness don't indicate any type of serious issue.
Bright red menstrual blood that mixes with fluids from the cervix can appear orange with red streaks. Bright orange blood may be associated with infection, so if you find bright orange blood you should contact your health provider to be on the safe side.
