Hi Cherie and thanks for bringing your question to EmpowHER.

I can understand why you would look toward potential breast health issues due to the pain, but I think you need to work with your medical provider to explore this further.

The more information you can provide on the type of pain and when it occurs the more it will help in trying to diagnose this and rule out potential issues.

There are a lot of nerves and blood vessels running through this part of our bodies, and it can be very sensitive to pain. A variety of things can cause armpit pain including an infection, peripheral artery disease and neuropathy. Also, a swollen lymph node can cause sharp, shooting pains in the armpit area.,

Pain is often a signal that the body uses to make us aware of a problem that needs attention. While armpit pain in many cases is harmless, it really would be best to work with your doctor to try to determine the cause. Will you let us know what you learn?

Best regards,

Pat
