Guide

Hi Anonymous, and welcome to EmpowHER. Thanks for seeking our help with your concern.

Have you mentioned this recent change to your gynecologist? You should schedule an appointment to be evaluated.

You may just be experiencing changes in your period due to outside factors such as a medication reaction, an increase in the hormone cortisol which is tied to stress, and many other factors.

On the other hand, it could be something more significant. Abnormal uterine bleeding can be broken into two categories: 1) problems that are hormonal in origin; and 2) those that are organic in origin—most commonly fibroid tumors, uterine polyps, or a systemic disease such as cancer or a blood-clotting disorder.

Fluctuations in hormone levels cause menstrual irregularities and are an early sign of perimenopause. Some women start in their late 40s.

Anemia causes fatigue, and the tiredness you experienced could be due to anemia.

It really would be best to see your doctor to get the answers you are seeking.

Regards,

Pam
