It is hard to avoid dry skin as temperatures drop, but the good news is that there are ways to fight off the effects of winter. When the season change, the humidity in the air dissipates and in turn our skin doesn't get as much moisture. The other reason for dry, cracked skin in winter is that the cold forces us to crank up our furnaces and the hot air is very drying to the skin.
