However, the only way to truly be sure is to use a pregnancy test.Sometimes periods can be late for a variety of reasons like stress, birth control, illness, travel, medications, etc.
Like I mentioned earlier, I see that this has happened several times to you and your girlfriend and it is worrying you sick. I suggest maybe using a back up birth control like the pill if it is going to cause so much stress.
