Guide

Hello Anon,

Thank you for visiting the EmpowHER community and for sharing your question. Dealing with menopause symptoms can be frustrating!

Levothyroxine is a replacement for a hormone normally produced by your thyroid gland to regulate the body's energy and metabolism. Levothyroxine is given when the thyroid does not produce enough of this hormone on its own and typically is used to treat hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone).

Certain drugs can interact with Levothyroxine and so it it recommended that you speak with your medical provider before combining any medications. Tell your doctor about all medications you use, start using, or stop using during your treatment with Levothyroxine.

Anon, discuss your menopause symptoms with your doctor to make sure that it is safe to combine these two medications. Every woman's body and circumstances are different and I am sure that he or she will find the best combination for you to treat your symptoms.

Hope this helps!

Kristin
