Hi Rochelleg,

Thank you for sharing your question about Trichomoniasis with the EmpowHER community. I am sorry that you are still experiencing symptoms.

Trichomoniasis is the most common curable STD in young, sexually active women. An estimated 7.4 million new cases occur each year in women and men.

Usually an oral antibiotic called metronidazole (Flagyl) is given to treat trichomoniasis.  Always take your antibiotics exactly as ordered by your primary healthcare provider.

I would contact the doctor who treated you and discuss the side effects that you are experiencing. It is possible that he or she would need to prescribe you a different antibiotic to treat the symptoms as the one time antibiotic did not do the trick.

Here is some general info from the EmpowHER community about Trich.

Did this help Rochelleg?
