Guide

Hello, and thank you for sharing your question with the community.  I understand how frustrating this must be for you.  I'd love to share some helpful information with you on the subject.

I want to be sure I understand you properly.  You say that you have had 2 cycles in one month and the second time it has lasted for 6 days instead of 5 as usual?

If this is the case the most common reason for 2 periods in one month is that one comes at the beginning of the month and one at the end that continues into the next month.  This is because the days between normal cycles can be as few as 23 days.  Another reason could be, if you are close to menopause, because of hormonal imbalances.  If you think that neither of these could be an option, you should ask your doctor about the possibility of thyroid dysfunction.

There are other more serious causes of frequent periods, but these are only a possibility if your periods have less than 23 days between them.

In regards to your period being 6 days instead of 5, this is perfectly normal.  Normal periods can last up to 7 days.

I hope this was helpful.  Let us know if you have any more questions.
