Hello Anon,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community and thank you for sharing your question. I am so sorry to hear that you are having difficulty trying to conceive. It is very sad, frustrating and confusing.

HCG is produced only during pregnancy. In about 85% of normal pregnancies, the hCG level will double every 48 - 72 hours. As a woman gets further along in pregnancy and the hCG level gets higher, the time it takes to double can increase to about every 96 hours.

Caution must be used in making too much of hCG numbers. A dramatic decline in hCG levels may indicate a miscarriage.

Try not to worry too much about these numbers-I am not a doctor nor an expert with fertility so I would rely on what your doctor suggests. This link has produced some good conversations about hCG levels. I hope you can find some reassurance here.

I wish you the very best on trying to have a baby.

Best,

Kristin
