Typically it take around 3 months for your body to fully adjust with birth control pills. Yes, I would say that it is most likely that your period is late do to the infrequency of taking pills. Sometimes even just getting off on a few days can disrupt your menstrual cycle by making it late or more irregular than usual.
When you get back on birth control pills after not taking them for a while or even miss a few days, your body must adjust to the lack of hormones and presence of hormones. However, if your period still does not come for a few days and you are concerned, you can always take a pregnancy test to be completely sure.
