Dear Anon,

Thank you for reaching out to the EmpowHER community and sharing your question.

I am sorry that you are feeling this pain in your foot. It sounds unusual since you don't suspect that you injured, twisted or dropped something on it.

Sudden foot pain (with no known explanation) could be any number of things.

From a fracture to a pinched nerve to an infection in the foot.

Sometimes fractures, especially stress fractures, are not always obvious and would need to an X-ray to diagnose.

Is there any swelling? Is there any redness? This could be the sign of an infection.

Anon, since you are in this much pain, I would advise you to go to the urgent care or call your doctor to see if they can get you in for an exam and X-ray.

Most likely the pain will not subside on it's own and only a physician can tell you for sure the root cause of the problem.

Did this help? Will you let me know if you are able to go to the doctor?

Best,

Kristin
