Typically, your hormone levels will decrease and your uterine lining will begin to shed about 12-16 days from ovulation. So to start your period 5 days after ovulating is fairly early, but it is possible.
Implantation bleeding is very very light and can often be mistaken for the start of a period, and if it lasts longer than a few hours, or more than a panty liner can take, it likely could be your period.
According to the American Pregnancy Association website, implantation occurs roughly at six to 12 days after fertilization of an egg by sperm. So it sounds like the right timing for implantation bleeding, but if it is heavy or dark red, most likely it's your period that has come really early.
