Hello and thank you for sharing your question.
Diarrhea takes a heavy toll on the whole body. Diarrhea occurs when the small and large intestines cannot properly extract the liquid from the fecal matter. This can be due to short term or long term damage in the intestines, due to bacteria, celiac disease, food poisoning etc.
When you have diarrhea the colon works extra hard to push out waste and this pressure is usually felt on the kidneys which are locates directed behind the colon.
Pinning down a possible cause will help determine the treatment. For example if this is a regular occurrence such as every week, then there is an underlying issue that you will need to see a doctor for.
If this happens once in a blue moon, then it could be something like food poisoning. In that case, drink as much water and coconut water as you can. Steer clear of gatorade, vitamin water and other sports drinks. Eat yogurt. Do not eat beans, or red meats until the diarrhea stops.
