Unfortunately your doctor is right. It has only be 5 months since the surgery. Some people may completely heal faster than others. What you can do is improve your circulation and production of red blood cells through cardio. You can go in the sauna and do hot/cold treatments. Take 5-10 minutes in the sauna, then take a cold shower and repeat. This improved circulation through the whole body which will execrate healing. Also bicycling is good cardio because it does not put too much impact on the ankle. I understand that 5 months of loosing sleep would cause anxiety, but you can focus on improving your over all health and your ankle will heal over time.
