Whenever a persons need to put on weight, nothing is better than real food. I highly suggest that you stay away from any "quick fix" methods. Increase your calorie intake with healthy, "real" food such as potatoes, whole grain brown rice, quinoa, and many fruits. Being off the birth control pills and increasing your calorie intake with natural grains and starches will quickly help you gain weight.
Make sure that you also exercise. Most people think of exercise as a way to lose weight. But it can actually help you gain muscle mass (instead of fat) which will increase your weight.
Increase in calories coupled with exercise 3 or 4 times a week is the perfect solution.
