Subchorionic bleeding or subchorionic hemorrhage is often seen during early pregnancy. In some case it is a sign of a miscarriage, but not in all cases. Symptoms are vaginal bleeding, but sometimes it isn't found until an ultrasound is performed. In many cases the bleeding goes away on it's own, but it's important that you seek immediate medical attention if you ever experience it.

I'm not sure it can be controlled, but it should be monitored and addressed by medical professionals.

With regards to preventing blood clots during pregnancy, one of the most common ways to achieve this is a healthy lifestyle. Regular exercise improves circulation, but be sure to consult your doctor as to which exercises are ideal. Eating healthy and not using tobacco products is recommended.
