Emergency contraception pills come with a host of side effects because of their high hormone content.

Possible side effects include:

  • nausea and/or vomiting.
  • headache.
  • feeling tired.
  • fatigue.
  • feeling dizzy.
  • lower abdominal pain.
  • vaginal bleeding.
  • breast tenderness.

In addition, your menstrual cycle can be irregular for a couple of months after taking it, until your hormones re-adjust to your normal levels.  If you took it as instructed, you can rest assure that it did the job of preventing pregnancy.
