Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Eating certain foods, in large amounts will cause drowsiness/sleepiness. High carb, high fat, and highly processed foods are difficult for the body to digest. If you eat these foods in generally high quantities in one sitting, the body will automatically put its energy into digestion. This causes you to feel like taking a nap right away.
The key to eating without causing sleepiness is to eat less carbs, fats and processed foods, and eat more often but in very small portions. This is the easiest way for the body to burn food for energy, and won't make you drowsy.
