Sometimes you can get a vaginal infections when the bacteria is off balanced. This can happen can when a non-sterile foreign object comes in contact with your vagina such as a tampon or someone else fingering you. Symptoms of an infection include itching and/or burning sensations, and/or painful intercourse. If you wish, you should see a gynecologist to get a pap smear. They will be able to detect any abnormalities that way.
