Hi Rio,

Thanks for reaching out to EmpowHER!

If you are concerned about pregnancy and do not want one between you and your partner, you really should not be having unprotected sex. There are many birth control option available today that can help reduce chances of pregnancy. I recommend you or your partner using one to help ease some fears and reduce chances of an unwanted pregnancy.

Here are some more details on many types of birth control: https://www.empowher.com/birth-control/content/choosing-right-birth-cont...

There aren't really any ways to speed up someone's menstruation. It is a natural process, so you must wait until it occurs. A woman's cycle comes every 28 days on average. Does she know the last time she had her period?

Another option is to take a pregnancy test. If your partner does not get her period on the expected date, try taking a pregnancy test which detects pregnancy.

I hope this helps! Again, I highly recommend looking into birth control options if you don't want a pregnancy and are having sex.

Best,
Erin
