Keep in mind, anytime you have unprotected sex, there is a potential for pregnancy. Even though your girlfriend's periods are irregular, she is still ovulating, just not on a regular or predictable schedule. All women, especially those with irregular periods, can ovulate at different points from cycle to cycle. That can make it very difficult to know when a woman is most fertile.
Be sure to use protection correctly each and every time you have intercourse to prevent pregnancy if this is a concern.
