Implantation bleeding often causes spotting (small pink or brown spots) or off-and-on light bleeding for about one or two days. This differs from a menstrual cycle, which normally lasts between four to seven days. This can happen 6 to 12 days after conception. If you had a period, even if it was a lighter than usual, that's an indication that you are not pregnant. If you doubt this, to ease your mind, you can always take a home pregnancy test.
For future, you may want to get on some form of birth control and have your partner use a condom. Those are much safer options than relying on his word that he pulled out in time.
