I'm a bit wordless on your husband's reaction to your serious illness.
Firstly, stop doing his chores - his laundry and meal prep - stop doing everything. You are under no obligation to take care of him, certainly if he is able-bodied.
If he is unwilling to change, you need to consider a separation. Ask for help - as much help as you can get - from family and friends. You may be surprised at the compassion offered. Please don't feel scared to ask. Your husband's abuse is not only bad for your physical health but also your emotional health which is very important, especially when ill. Your husband's abuse is now causing you emotional ill-health. You are second-guessing yourself and have completely unwarranted guilt.
Please focus on you and you alone and consider moving to a healthier environment. Your husband's cruelty is simply unacceptable. Seek financial assistance via disability ((your doctor can help with this).
