There are many causes for knee fluid so treatment may depend on the cause.
Arthritis is one cause, as is bursitis. You may have an infection or even gout. Do you know what is causing this?
At home treatments including icing the knee, elevating the knee as much as you can and massage can also help.
If none of this works, a steroid shot can be of great help...and physical therapy.
