PPA is a complicated disease and it's unique in it's application to each person. Some people are almost mute a few years after diagnosis and others, like your wife, are totally understandable.
She may go on for years like this.
Her personal hygiene situation, however, is problematic. Can you have a nursing assistant help in this area? Sometimes a professional is a better option. If you are going into an independent living community, and it has an assisted living facility attached, you may be able to privately hire an assistant for an hour a day to assist in bathing and general hygiene.
