Bleeding disorders (eg, hemophilia )
Certain congenital diseases (eg, polycystic kidneys )
Certain medications

Risk Factors

A risk factor is something that increases your chance of getting a disease or condition.

Smoking
Medications (eg, certain antibiotics and pain medications)
Radiation of the pelvis (for cancer treatment)
Acute or chronic urinary tract infection
Recent upper respiratory tract infection
Family history of kidney problems
