There are many different kinds of nerve blocks - your doctor will go into detail with you on what the side effects are - there are many and they may depend on your own circumstances.
Side effects include:
High blood sugars
Skin conditions
Itching
Weight gain
Over stimulation
Soreness at the site of injection
Bleeding
Death (highly unlikely)
