You need to eat foods that are soft and easy to digest. Most veggies aren’t good because the system can’t digest easily. Same with salads, nuts and seeds. I suffered from diverticulitis. It’s an awful condition. I finally had to have my colon resectioned. Was the best thing I ever did! Always had to carry an antibiotic with me just in case I’d have a flare up and always had an anti spasmotic drug for the cramping. I would always eat anything that was pureed. Things like, mashed potatoes, carrots puréed, soups, soft beets. Treat your intestine like a fine suede glove. Don’t put anything in your mouth that can be disruptive to the colon. No hot, spicy foods. More calming foods. Apple sauce was another good one for me. Pudding too. I would even purée my chicken for protein. No spices, the more bland the food the better. I didn’t even use salt or pepper on anything. Think you see where I’m going with this. Oh, and NO alcohol. It doesn’t help. Lots of water. I drink H-Factor water 3x’s a day for inflammation and this has really helped keep my gut stabilized. Gradually go back to a less liquid soft diet, but take your time. You have to let your body heal. Also, stress plays a huge factor in diverticulitis. HUGE! I lived with the big “D” for years. I found stress to be one of the biggest factors. Hope this helps you. I’m so sorry you have this condition. It’s no fun!!!!! Feel better. Michelle
