If you take your pills regularly, as prescribed, there is about a 1% chance of pregnancy, with full intercourse, so the risk is very small. Brown discharge before or after a period can be normal. If it's it accompanied by a foul odor, pain or itching, see your doctor as it could be a sign of infection. Otherwise, I would not be concerned about the discharge.
