Making out with clothes on is not the same as having sex (intercourse). Clothing prevents penetration and ejaculate (which contains sperm) from entering you. Genitals touching without clothes is not safe as accidents can easily happen, so wearing a condom offers protection. We can't know why your period is late, but this can sometimes happen. Stress, illness or a change in body chemistry might be the cause.
