You should be alcohol free and eating fresh, non-fatty foods, that have as few chemicals and additives as possible. A low salt diet is important in order to avoid fluid retention and swelling.

Eat lean proteins like chicken and turkey, with plenty of vegetables.

A nutritionist can help you further.
