HERWriter Guide

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

You are not receiving proper care if you have no treatment plan or follow-up after a diagnosis of congestive heart failure.
The answer about life expectancy varies very much - depending on the severity and including your age and general health.
If your CHF is in the early stages and you get proper treatment, you could live to a near normal life expectancy. If it's very severe, you could be talking a few years; it varies very widely.
Please insist on a follow up meeting with your doctor and ask these questions. It is your right to know as much as you can and to receive adequate follow-up.
Best,
Susan
