Are you saying that your urologist gave you a catheter to take home and use? Were any instructions provided to guide you? You may have nicked yourself during the insertion process and most likely will not have any serious concerns from this. It will take a while to get more comfortable with the procedure. It could help to contact your urologist's office and ask if there is a nurse you could talk with to get more information on how to do this or if there is a website they would suggest which provides detailed instructions.
