Vaginal boils are pus-filled, inflamed bumps that form under the skin of your vagina. These bumps can develop on the outside of the vagina, in the pubic area, or they can develop on the labia.

Some boils may look similar to pimples, and a correct diagnosis is key to treatment. If you have a spot on your vagina and aren’t sure if it’s a boil or the result of something else, make an appointment to see your doctor. Otherwise, boils will usually go away on their own, in a few days. If they do not resolve or become infected, see your doctor.

Some things you can do at home to help heal the boil - apply a warm compress, wear loose clothing, keep your genital area clean, and apply antibiotic ointment to the boil.
