Hello, Anon. Thank you for writing today.

Kyphoplasty is an elective surgery designed to achieve three main goals in patients suffering from painful vertebral compression fractures:
To reduce or eliminate back pain.
To prevent further collapse of the fracture, avoiding an increase in spinal deformity/progression of postural problems.
To restore normal spinal alignment, improving the patient's posture.

To be the most effective - a kyphoplasty should be done in fresh fractures.  Consult your physician about a timeline for the procedure based on your health and specific condition.  This is something only your doctor can asses.
