The pill is usually prescribed to women over the age of 16. However, doctors and nurses can prescribe the pill to women under the age of 16, if they feel that it is appropriate.

In most states, teens are allowed to get birth control without their parents’ permission at their nearest Planned Parenthood health center or from their regular doctor or nurse. However, there are a few places where the rules are different. Call your doctor or nurse or your nearest Planned Parenthood health center to find out what your options are.
