Lyme's Disease is a tick-borne illness caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi. When diagnosed at an early stage, the standard treatment for Lyme disease is a two- to three-week course of oral antibiotics. Doxycycline, amoxicillin, and cefuroxime axetil are the most commonly prescribed medications.
