Symptoms of the flu (influenza) include fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, congestion, runny nose, headaches, and fatigue. Other symptoms associated with the flu include chest pressure, head congestion, headache, nausea, shortness of breath, sore throat, or swollen lymph nodes. Vomiting and diarrhea are not common symptoms of the flu. They are more common in children with influenza. If your primary symptoms are vomiting and/or diarrhea, you most likely have gastroenteritis - or stomach virus.
