My grandmother was diagnosed with bone cancer when I was in elementary school. I think she was in her 50's when the disease disfigured her beautiful face, and then she spent nearly 30 years slowly dying. A year after she died, my grandfather also died. Strange how that happens.

None of us wanted to see my grandmother in pain and gradually disintegrating. It was more frustrating, and I can't imagine how difficult, for my grandfather.

People may say we have a right to die with dignity, then try to tell us that we can't decide our own method.

Thank you for sharing your story. I'll be waiting for Part 2.
