The Mayo Clinic has a pretty good article on the safety of sunless tanners and how they work. For more information, visit the Mayo Clinic's Web site One important note, though, according to the Mayo Clinic most sunless tanning products don't contain a sunscreen and, therefore, don't protect your skin from sun damage. If you spend time outdoors, be sure to apply a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15 before going outside.
