I'd be so sad if I never got to know my mom because she was too old when I was born.
One of the wonderful things about my relationship with my mom is not only knowing her as a mom, but as a friend. That's one of the beautiful things about aging and maturing.
I was the shoulder she cried on when her 2nd marriage ended. I know her much more deeply because she was younger when she had me. And that friendship is priceless. I can only wish that for everyone.
And just between you and me, my mom has made me the man I am. If she was older, and maybe not around, I would be half the person I am.
