I was prescribed a medication as well to calm down the bowel. One of the drugs I was taking was Diazepam. They would prescribe a 2 mg pill. Hyoscyamine was sublingual and when I felt the onset of IBS, it would calm down the bowel.
What worked for me was taking magnesium. I take 400 mg a day. Originally, I started off 400 mg in the a.m. and 400 mg at night but switched to taking it just once a day. It regulated me so quickly -- you do not know ...
Dr. Elizabeth Vliet recommended Twin Lab's magnesium. She's found that brand worked the best for women. I would not recommend it for men. Men's systems are different and 400 mg of magnesium will send them over the edge.
Whatever works for Tulip is great. It's another option for women to know. Thanks for sharing.
