Rachelle,
The above suggestions sound really good, about getting a baseline started with your hormonal levels and consulting your doctor first.
I have concerns when I hear people say they are "starting a new diet" vs. "starting a new lifestyle". "Diets" usually don't work, because they end up being temporary, inflexible, strict and guilt-producing. Humans don't eat and exercise well under those conditions! There are some great posts on this site about other women's ideas on Weight Management: https://www.empowher.com/community/forum/conditions/obesity
Have you considered using the money you would pay for Weight Watchers, and use it on a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Personal Trainer?
