Fortunately, because I have feet like a hobbit, I rarely wear flip flops, but like you have noticed that I am definitely not the norm. In addition to foot problems caused by flip flops, I do know women who have had surgery because of the type of shoes they wear -- Three to five inch heels. They switched to shorter shoes in no time but it's too bad they were on crutches for a month.
