Great info. As women, we hear we need to take in enough calcium, but I have never understood how much I actually needed. One tool that I found handy comes courtesy of the International Osteoporosis Foundation.
Here, you can enter information specific to your gender and age, your stage in life such as pregnant, menopausal, etc., as well as find a list of calcium-rich foods. The best part is you can enter how much of each food you consume daily to find out your calcium requirement.
I discovered that my calcium intake comes in around 983 mg, which according to my needs is only about 17 mg shy of what I need. Not too bad, but I also take a calcium supplement that wasn't listed. I encourage women to give it a try.
